The Nissan X-Trail is a 5-door compact crossover, which has been produced since 2001. In 2007 on the base of the Nissan C the second generation of the car was created and it was presented on the Auto Show in Geneva.
The Nissan X-Trail offers 2.0 L and 2.5 L 4-cylinder gasoline engine and 2 L 4-cylinder turbo diesel. The transmission can be 6-speed manual or automate, CVT, M-CVT.
The power unit of the Nissan X-Trail has a transversal placement in front of the car. The distribution of the torque among the axles is provided by the multidisc friction clutch. The driver of the Nissan X-Trail can force this process himself. The selector is located on the central gallery and has such modes as 2WD, Auto, Lock.
The design of the interior has been updated. The materials for the salon have all been improved for better touch feeling, thick but soft-touch materials are used for the seats. The leather in the interior makes it more attractive and luxury. The onboard computer can show the amount of useful information for the driver, such as fuel economy, cruising range, outside temperature, average speed and a reminder for a break.
Rear passenger’s comfort is provided due to renewed front seats, that is creating an additional 10mm of knee-room, without discomfort for the front seat passenger.
A new modernization for the Nissan X-Trail is the installation of display of rear view camera into the central ceiling mounted mirror, this model is not equipped with the Nissan's navigation system can still complete with the estimation of the proximity of the cars behind.
In cold conditions, the Nissan X-Trail can defrost very quickly, the heating system was renewed for faster warm-up; the same thing is with the efficient cooling of the cabin in hot conditions.
Rear seat passengers have rear seat warmers, offering two levels of heating.
In 2012 during the Auto Show in Geneva the new Hi-cross concept was shown. The car is 4660 mm long, 1850 mm wide and 1670 mm high. The renewed Nissan X-Trail of the next generation will appear in 2014.
