The Audi TTS (Audi ТТ Coupe) is the classical sport FWD and 4WD roadster with the modern design.
The model was presented during the Auto Show in Geneva in September 1998. The car was based on the platform of the Volkswagen Golf IV.
The Audi ТТ Coupe has the exact lines and common shapes, nice toned lights, low posture and dissimilar body. The 2-door, 4-seater car is 4.04 m long. The rear end and the front end look alike. The attention-getting stylistic elements are huge, carried out of the wheel arches. The 17-inch wheels, with the chromed pipes built into the rear bumper create the aggressive and at the same time elegant look of the car.
The interior is thoughtful and comfortable. The wide doors, deep cup-shaped seats are trimmed with leather. The front seats are ergonomic and multi-adjustable, so they can easy suite the person with every constitution. These sportive seats also have the roller for the small of the back, so the car is the perfect choice for the long distance trips. Not long ago, the car has even won the award for the most orthopedic seats. The rear seats (because of the location and construction) can be used only for children, they can be folded, and form the smooth surface. The trunk is roomy; it has the volume of 270 L. The polished metal is also widely used in the trimming. The main element in the design of the salon are the metal rings with the small deepings (on the big devices) and dots (on the small ones). They are on the cover of the gasoline tank, on the steering wheel and even on the gear lever. Several variant of body painting give the characteristic features.
The torpedo resembles the control panel of the small plane – there are no unnecessary line or detail, everything is in its place.
The extra attention is paid to the security: the strengthen frame of the windshield, the safety rails behind the seats, 2 air bags, ABS, the antiskid system (on the FWD versions).
Three engines are offered: 4-cylinder 217 hp in line one, 180 or 225-hp power units. Depending on the modification, the car can accelerate up to 243 km / h.
