Ford Shelby is the renewed version of classical Ford Mustang dating back to the year 1964. The creators of first versions of Shelby didn’t have much success in giving the car substantial speed characteristics. But later models enable to enjoy the classy performance of a stylish vehicle.
Ford Shelby reappeared on the market with the famous GT500 model in 2007. It was charged with 5.4-liter engine, able to produce 500 horsepower. But the modifications, applied to the vehicle later, made it even more powerful: now it is able to perform 650 horsepower with the same V8. The power source is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. Engineers tried to minimize the efforts of the driver in the process of launching. The system is easy to handle and is also supported by electronic assist of the steering. The seats of the car give support for the occupants even on rough road. The handling is smooth and the transmission is very precise. The general impression of the experts leaves only positive sensations.
As for the exterior of the car, it boasts 19-inch alloy wheels and xenon headlights. They are standard, but there are also many optional elements of body shell.
The interior is equipped with leather seats, the system of voice-control and a CD-player.
One can also choose a version, equipped with a navigation system and climate control but it will boost the price significantly. The car also possesses ABS, front-seat airbags which was standard to go through safety control.
The new light engine and revised suspension characteristics make the vehicle easy at turns and on difficult parts of the road. The car is luxurious, and it really provides all the conditions for tackling everyday needs. But one can hardly imagine using this car only in shopping areas. Its powerful engine and agile handling, together with assisted steering make it a supercar.
One has to mention that the successor of the majestic Ford Shelby is a revised Ford Mustang Cobra, which will be the near –twin of Shelby’s.
