Products of Austrian company KTM are among the best sports and off-road motorcycles. In 1999, its riders won two world titles in the enduro competition - Italian Giovanni Sala in the 400 cc class and the Finn Juha Salminen in 125 cc. In addition, the Finn Kari Tiainen received a silver medal in the class of more than 500 cc and Swede Peter Johansson came second in the World Championship Motocross 500 cc class According to the classification adopted in the company, all its products are divided into five groups: two include the "civilized" motorcycles (125 Euro, Серия EXC Enduro and Серия LC4 Hard Enduros) and three pure sports vehicles (Mini 2000 and SX Motocross). One of such sport versions is EXC Enduro Series.
Enduro motorcycles were created especial for competitions. Their design is closed to the motocross bike. They are equipped with a wide range of two-stroke engines (model 125EXC, 200EXC, 250EXC, 300EXC and 380EXC), including a new 250-cc engine. Four-stroke engines of the new generation are used on motorcycles 400EXC Racing and 520EXC Racing. The company is also developing a two-cylinder four-stroke V-type 1000 cc engine LC8. This power unit is designed for a powerful rally motorcycle and the next version of the Road Super Duke. Debut of new items will be held in autumn 2000. The driver's seat is made in the standard manner for KTM which means that it is done well.
Seat is narrow and flat. The car seems to be narrow, but it is not as narrow as last year's version of the model. The geometry of the "wheel-seat-steps" is comfortable and it automatically moves you forward, closer to the steering wheel. The drivers from KTM can skillfully create the impression that every brand KTM bikes weighs 15 pounds less than it actually is. Suspension is smooth on the rough surface, but does not reach its maximum. Front suspension is fully adjustable WP with the latest generation of mobile pipe diameter 48 mm and stroke of 300 mm. Rear suspension is mentioned above multi-regulated damper system PDS.
