For the first time this car of the small class appeared in 1996. And at once it has found a lot of fans. They noted its unordinary and casual appearance. The second generation of Ford Ka (Typ RU8) appeared in 2009. It was developed together with the company Fiat. The same platform as in Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda was in the basis of that car. The 69-strong 8-valved Ka is able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 13, 1 sec. The declared maximum speed is about 159 km/h, the average gasoline consumption (EU) is 5, 1 l per 100 km. Both engines are paired with a mechanical 5-speed gearbox.
It is a McPherson suspension at the front part and the adjoined longitudinal control arms in the back side. It is noteworthy that the suspension of Ka II is equipped with a cross-stabilizer not only at the front side but from the rear. Lots of improvements made it possible to select the softer spring. The brakes in the front side are assembled with ventilated discs that made this car particularly exclusive.
