Ferrari 599 or as it is more known, the 599 GTB Fiorano is the two-seat flagship that appeared in 2006 to replace the 575 M Maranello model line. The production of Ferrari 599 lasted until 2012 and the line will be replaced by F12 Berlinetta in 2013. The name 599 is made of the car’s engine displacement that has 5999 cc.
The Ferrari 599 a.k.a. GTO is available as two-seat berlinetta. It is equipped with 6.0 liter V12 Tipo F140C engine and has a six-speed manual or "F1" sequential transmission option. The performance of this car is really phenomenal: it can accelerate to 100 km/hour in 3.7 seconds, to 200 km/hour in 11.0 seconds and is able to achieve the maximum speed of 330 km/hour, very handy if you are late for a very important meeting.
There are two high-performance packages of the Ferrari 599: the first is called Ferrari 599 HGTE and the second is called 599 GTO. Ok, so the 599 GTO was officially presented in 2010. The Ferrari management stated that this is by far the fastest car they ever had. This car completed the Fiorano test circuit in 84 seconds; this is one second faster than the Enzo Ferrari showed many years ago. The engine capacity shows 661 hp (493 kW) and 620 n/m of torque. The 599 GTO can also accelerate to 100 km/hour in less than 3.35 seconds or at leats Ferrari management claims so. The top speed of this car is 335 km/hour. The weight of this model is almost 100 kg lighter than the standard GTB version.
The Ferrari 599 HGTE means this car has a Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione system, or in other words is even more improved and upgraded. This package includes a modified calibration settings, optimized tires and newest electronics. The engine is combined with the new software and new gearbox. Interior as well as exterior looks even more stunning than it did before.
There are also other special versions of Ferrari 599, such as 599XX that is only legal for track use, the 599XX EVO, the newest version of 599XX or the 599 GTB 60F1, the special edition that will be available in couple of years.
