BMW F650

BMW F650 is a single cylinder family of motorcycle manufactured from 1993 by BMW Motorrad. The F series included F650ST Strada, F650CS Scarver, F650GS, F650 Funduro, F650GS Dakar and at the latest the G650GS and G650GS Sertao. These are the first for BMW since the R27 to induct a single cylinder engine and chain drive with the exception of the F650CS. The F650 Funduro and F650ST Strada were entered into the European market in 1993 and they were introduced in the US only in 1997. These bikes were designed in association with the Aprilia whose model was launched in the name of Pegao. The bikes of BMW were manufactured by Aprilia in Italy and were featured with 652 cc single cylinder Rotax from Austria. It was also the first one to have a chain drive.

Bikes were manufactured in two variants, namely the F650 Funduro a dual purpose bike and the F650ST Strada intended for street use, thus fitted with a smaller 18-inch front wheel. Two 33mm carburetor were used in both bikes.  The F650GS and F650CS Scarver were introduced in 2000 to replace Funduro and Strada. The original BMW F650 was discontinued in 2001. F650GS and F650GS Dakar were dual purpose motorcycle produced between 2000 and 2007.
