BMW Gran Turismo is manufactured by BMW since 2009 and is called as BMW 5 series GT. Assembly of the car takes place at Dingolfing, Germany and the car was designed by Christopher Weil in 2006. The vehicle is classified as a mid-size luxury car/executive car. The car is related to the BMW 5 Series F10/F11 and was given a FR Layout. Powertrain included engine variants 3.0 L I6 offering 300hp and 300 lb-ft torque, 4.4 L V8 offering 400hp and 450lb-ft torque. A 3.0L I6 offering 265hp and 425 lb-ft torque was also available as an option. An 8-speed ZF 8HP automatic was coupled to these engines and the Gran Turismo from BMW had a wheelbase of 120.9 inches, length of 196.85 inches, width of 74.8 inches and height of 61.4 inches. This is the first to come out of the Progressive Activity Sedan series of BMW and the platform used was F07. This vehicle is a combination of a Sport sedan, a Gran Turismo and an SUV. In the concept car the central console separated the rear seats but the production models were given 5 seats. Trunk space and height was larger than the 5- series but the length of the car was similar to the 7-series.
