Mercedes-Benz C230
Mercedes-Benz C230

Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor is a lowest priced and it goes from rude to meek with it. This looks like a modern Renault with its two-pane glass backlight bulging and fat bottom. No offense intended but two reasons court rear concern. The first one is the 2.3 Liter supercharged 4-cylinder iron-block, and the second is the regular six-speed manual gearbox which is termed as rubbery, uncertain and ropy. In other word is poor considering that it is a sports coupe. This definitely is not sporty. The 2003 model of C230 this complaint was addressed and a new engine a 1.8 L 4-cylinder all aluminium super charged replaced the old one. This is going backwards and it reduced the displacement by half a liter to the old engine and the horsepower and the torque is less too at peak. The short sprint of 0-60 is achieved by an unremarkable 8.1 seconds by the 1.8L which is half second more to the 2002 car. The engine does not move beyond the 4000rpm as much as you try.  In place the hatch will take you to an extra 4 to 5 miles per gallon which would depend on your gear choice, a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed auto optionally bought for $1325.
