Comparing Jaguar F-Type with the corvette C-7 is like comparing royalty with a swamp dwelling stick wielding hillbilly. The C-7 though, has earned quite a reputation in the US, but it is understandable given the mindset of the American public. Anything that has enough extra large cup holders and Wendy’s loyalty card or anything that does not burst into flames while negotiating curves at high speeds will be liked as an unlicensed gun in the US.
But here we are talking about Europe and the beautiful British car the Jaguar F-Type R.
This vehicle pack in a great punch with its 542hp supercharged V8 engine and a gorgeous looking aluminium bottom. If someone has mentioned before the start of the Speed Week how amazing the C7 is then you would not have agreed. The Stingray is rear driven with front engine layout, and is waiting to flick you on the roadside when an excuse happens. This is what you might have thought just by looking at it cursorily.
But it is not! The Corvette is an accessible fast car which is confidence boosting which you would think yeah, here is a good racecar. Well, a race car would be noisy, twitchy, and hideously hot and can catch fire anytime and the Corvette Stingray is not all that and feels like a racecar on the good side.
