Cadillac President Rebukes Critics for their comments on NY Move and Renaming Plan
“You don’t mess with the Johan” quoted the critics but they never thought that the Cadillac President would rebuke them with a defense with fiery worded phrases. He was criticized for his decision to change the head quarters to New York and renaming of most Cadillac models. Nysschen has reportedly retaliated with the statement “don’t mess with me” in Facebook which was later published by Daily Kanban.
He lashed out at his critics by saying that the changes had nothing to do with where he chose live or Detroit for the matter, but was done to produce the most awesome Cadillac ever created by the company. He further said that the company needs to work on policies, processes, attitude, mindsets and behavior that are conducive to Cadillac. The entire process must be focused on winning the challenge posed by the premium segment
Johan was also peeved with the way the press chose to ignore his flagship CT6 and the planned model expansion program of Cadillac. He also said that he had also received several emails from angry former GM authorities who expressed their anger by saying that it was the dumbest idea to make Cadillac a separate unit and the move to New York, his disliking for Detroit. They also wished that he experience the wrath of hell for his actions.
In response, Johan said that nothing will change if we don’t move and only physical relocation will effect changes in the process. It has also become true that the change can be achieved by moving the operations anywhere. As for the choice for choosing the New York for the purpose a global brand could do worse than that and for the Detroit city he said that the Cadillac’s success will be always theirs and major portions of work would remain with the city only.
