Mini Superleggera new patent renderings of Mini Superleggera points towards s production probabilities

Mini with its revealing of the Superleggera Vision concept impressed one and all at the Paris Motor Show just two months ago now with the renderings appearing it looks as it would go in to production. Even before the debut of the little roadster concept rumors are already on work questioning its potential as a production material. The rumors become well-established after the appearance of a sequence of patent renderings. These pictures having more than a resemblance to the concept show what would be the ultimate look of the Superleggera production version and at the same time without making concessions to the realities.

One thing that appears is the windshield which has proper framing but cannot be sure about it because of the roof and also it is something that we never saw in a concept car. It also possesses more wing mirrors but the fin on the rear deck remains untouched and so is the extractor vents located on the hood.  Even the grille found on the concept has been retained intact.

However the publishing of these images and also filing them with the concerned authorities’ necessarily does not mean that the automaker is going on with the production of the roadster. If at all it happens then it would certainly discard the electric Powertrain of the concept and would fill the gap created by the much maligned Mini Roadster which incidentally was the crumpled Cabriolet.

BMW the parent company is likely to take into consideration of the experience of its arch rival Daimler which had a similar experiment and did not have much luck with it when it tried to add an exclusive roadsters to the range of the Smart lineup. We hope that the Superleggera will have more success in the market if it is given the go ahead with the mass production.
