2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, has all the features we loved in a Miata, but has grown smaller in stature
The latest Miata offers comfort, the MX-5 Miata that is, not the comfort offered by leather seats, opera windows, and softer ride but it remains a Miata which is a two-seat roadster from Mazda of fourth generation and its steadiness.
It belongs to the sui generis which can be owed to the size which is toylike. The scene around the Miata grows larger, and cars are becoming bigger, larger or medium, rounder waistline, and SUVs. But with Miata the dimensions remain roughly same of the original conception of 1990. More importantly the MX-5 has considerably slimmed down compared to the previous generation. The new Miata comes half an inch lower and a short wheelbase. This is impressive.
The exterior looks trimmer and feels trimmer, but the interior appears big. This is because the space in the cabin has been well planned and allocated better than before. You have more headroom as the seats slide back further. The steering wheel is not telescope, but it tilts and the sills get slightly higher and you see the seats lowered by half an inch. Earlier car had high perched seats and low placed doors giving the impression that the driver is sitting in the vehicle than inside it.
In spite of the seats being positioned lower the car offers excellent visibility in the front. The hood gets lower by an inch which is due to the engine placement of half an inch backward and also the oil pan of lower profile enabling to push the engine down by half- inch. It is also easy to put the car on the road with its taller fender crease. A 1.5 Liter 4-cylinder engine nestles under the plunging hardline which is direct injection gasoline engine which is the regular for the rest of the globe. The engine makes 129hp and 111 lb-ft of torque at 7000 rpm and 4800 rpm respectively.
