2016 Chevrolet Malibu: this time you have a crisp looking Chevy that will erase the memory of the old
When the Chevrolet Malibu was redesigned for 2013, it came up with disastrous results as it looked totally indifferent. This became a fact, when it was compared with some of its aggressive competitors Ford Fusion and Hyundai Sonata who were inventive and far ahead.
The Chevy wore a bleak look and worst; the back seat was more restrictive than the earlier model. Immediately a redesign was cooked up by Chevy next year for the Malibu, but it still could not salvage the back seat or the basic looks. Three after this, the Malibu is back again and this time all new and wearing a fresh look leaning on sportiness, fresh engines, and fresh underpinnings.
We can always debate that the longevity of Malibu, which is into its ninth generation since it entered in 1964, could be attributed to the inoffensive nature of its design that augurs well for the rental fleets in Middle America. The contemporary scene requires a different kind of attire in the mid-size sedan segment. Malibu is right on cue this time with a crisp and stylish body which not only disappear the previous models tasteless disposition but make the Hyundai Sonata, Ford Fusion, Mazda 6, Kia Optima and the feisty Toyota Camry of the latest worry about their prospects.
It appears as if the designers have taken note of the latest Impala and its good looks, as several of the styling cues of the car, have been inducted into the 2016 Malibu. It starts with its proportions, as Malibu embraces a swept roof line of a four-door coupe body style, like the Ford Fusion, and nicely blends it with the stretched hood and the sliced overhangs.
Now the Malibu wears a sleek face, and overall is crisp with body lines, side creases and immaculate stance thus wiping the vision of the old Malibu from out face.
