2015 New York Auto Show is going on in the US; a number of vehicles have been displayed. Mercedes has also exhibited its AMG GT. This is the second super of the German car manufacturer which before it has also built an illustrious supercar which is known as the SLS AMG. AMG GT is actually the heir of the SLS AMG, and it is the product which has been completely built in-house by skunk works division, AMG, of the automaker.
This new vehicle is the successor of the SLS AMG, so it may seem you that this new car in design is influenced by its predecessor i.e. SLS AMG. Though, the car has not equipped with the gullwing doors which are considered to be a trademark for the vehicle. The design of the front of the vehicle has been moderated if it is compared with the design of its descendent. So the vehicle looks much docile. The lines of the body have been made simple and less striking. This setting is considered to be good for the vehicle’s drag coefficient.
For power, the vehicle AMG GT has been incorporated with a V8 twin-turbo 4.0-liter engine which has been tuned differently for its two different variants. In standard version, AMG GT, the engine delivers 454 bhp of power along with the 600 Nm of torque while in AMG GT-S, it is measured as 503 bhp of the power and 650 Nm of the force. These both variants of the car have been featured with the rear wheel drive. These cars have been equipped with AMG SpeedShift seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The GT-S version of it has been sported with a limited slip differential system which is controlled electronically, as well as it is also supportive for better handling and performance on both road and track.
