It is no more a secret by the present point of time that the automaker, Mahindra, is engaged in two things; the first thing is this that the automaker want to launch the Scorpio equipped with an automatic gearbox; and the second thing is modification of its Quanto. It is expected that the work on these two projects is in full swing as both these cars have been spotted secretly running on the Mumbai-Pune Highway for the testing of these vehicles.
The facelifted version of the Quanto was camouflaged highly at the time when it is spied, so pictures of this test mule could not clear the picture of this vehicle, but some reliable sources have disclosed that this facelifted vehicle at front will be incorporated with redesigned headlights and a new grille; as well as, it has also been equipped with new fronts along with back bumpers that make this new vehicle look like SUV. However, the vehicle maintains its esthetic appeal. The hood scoop of this facelifted version of Quanto has been designed in such a manner that it gives the impression like the Scorpio. The notable addition of this vehicle is DRLs like that of XUV 500. However, the positioning of these DRLs has been changed into this. The XUV 500 has them down the headlamps while in this vehicle they are up the headlamps.
Inside the cabin, very limited and minor changes can be observed. For power, the vehicle has been sported with a 1.5-liter twin-scroll, three-cylinder turbo diesel engine which is capable to churn out 100 bhp of power mated with 240 Nm of torque. The power is sent to wheels with the help of a five-speed manual gearbox. However, the automaker may equip this vehicle with Automated manual transmission.
