French manufacturers have presented the new Renault Twin’Run Concept at the Monaco Gran Prix. Stylistically this is a prototype of the future urban compact vehicles, but you’re probably more interested in technical characteristics and not the design of the car. The car is built around a steel tubular frame. The outer panels are made of fiberglass and polyester. The 3.5 liter V6 engine is a modification of the one that is currently used for Megane Trophy model. In Twin’Run this engine develops 320 hp of capacity and 380 N • m of torque.
Laurens van den Acker, the chief designer of Renault, says that Twin’Run is a cocktail of energy, passion and athleticism that is designed to revive the memory of symbolic racing cars of Renault. After his younger brother, the Twin\'Z concept, stylish city car concept Twin\'Run shows that the main Renault’s strategy for the next couple of years is personalization. The design strategy of the company, by the way, has six key areas.
These areas are called \"Common Sense\", \"Family\", \"Work\", \"Research\", \"Love\" and \"The Game\" and all together make a Company’s new design direction called “Life”. Twin\'Run concept represents the last ingredient of Life, the Game. You can play some serious games with this car as acceleration from 0 to 250 km/hour takes only 4.5 seconds.
Four huge additional front lights are equipped with LED lights. Without them the planned design with more space and brighter light would be really difficult to provide. These innovational lights have a wide light beam settings. The concept’s length is 3680 mm, its width – 1750 mm and height – 1493 mm. The weight of the car is only 950 kg. The 18-inch wheels wearing Michelin 205/40 R18 front and 245/35 R18 rear tires are also something that adds to the overall look. The concept is built in collaboration with French Tork Engineering/Poclain Vehicules Company which specialty is preparing the cars for racing competitions. That’s not surprising since Twin’Run also has some racing elements in it.
